so today, keith and i were planning on planting hardcore .. but we are conked out after working the past several weeks with zero days off. i mean, it is literally get up, move chickens, eat breakfast, work outside until one-ish, eat a quick lunch, work outside until about eight, lock up the chickens, come inside, eat dinner, shower, sleep, repeat. non-stop. for weeks and weeks.
but today--! i found out about a pick-your-own berry patch in taylorville last weekend at the farmer's market. they sell strawberries for 1.50$/lb--1.50$/lb! it's insane! how could i not pick strawberries for that price? we were shooting for thursday since i had so much work to get done--plus the herald and review is coming out tuesday and we have a lot of preparation for that--but since we were so worn out today, i said, hey! let's do this! so i called amanda panda up and said we needed to see each other stat (my illicit sister wife lover and i haven't seen each other outside of csa pickups in about as much time as i haven't had a day off), and since her hubs was so gracious to keep the day open for us, we spent an awesome mother's day picking strawberries.
